CORRECTAR LA LETRA

Letra : postcard from Istanbul

Hey! It's Oscar. I hope you're doing well.
I just got back from Istanbul and I'm on a train right now, so I thought I could write down all the memories I have in the meantime.

Okay, but let's go back a couple weeks ago. Hmm... After playing the first show in Istanbul, I decided to stay one more day to meet an artist from here that I really liked, Nilipek. We had no pressure of making a song, just getting to know each other. And we did, but we also made a song. She brought a ukulele with her, so... while asking questions about her life, we played a few chords. And after a few minutes, we realised it was actually really good. So we sat in front of the piano together and wrote the rest of the song.

The next week, I was supposed to finish another postcard, but er—, it got cancelled, a few days before the deadline actually. But then, I remembered about the song we made with Nilipek. I texted her and asked her if she was free (for) the next three days, and she was. So, thank you again Nili, really. Lucas and I flew right away to Istanbul, and we had the best three days there. Maybe it was just meant to be.

I finished producing the song in the Airbnb the night before going to Nili's house. There, we recorded our vocals, and the next morning we shot the music video. It was the first day of the spring, but it was also snowing. Never thought I would see Istanbul covered in white.

In three days, I think I ate like four or five different kebabs, you know, just to make sure I really like it. And uh, yes I do. I thought I was going to die everytime I had to take a cab, but I made it. I met Nili's husband —who actually plays drums with her on the stage—, and I thought this was the perfect story to tell your children. And we just had enough time for one last dinner date with Lucas and a friend. Guess who was the wingman!

Convincing other artists to join me every month is a lot harder than I thought. I guess I'm not alone in my bedroom anymore. And you know, since I'm not Ed Sheeran yet, I have to prove I can make really good music. Um, that I still have a lot to do. So, thank you Nili, really, for trusting me. I truly loved the song that we made together.

I'll see you next month. Take care.
Oscar.
